We bought a 5 user license for FogBugz+Kiln bundle.

We have installed this onto a fresh win2008 server.

SQL is on another server.

Install went fine.

We migrated from a trial OnDemand account, so we copied our database, and attached it as per documentation.

FogBugz works fine, all our old cases are intact.

Kiln does not... There's no link to it from FogBugz, and attempting to go to http://[server]/kiln redirects to the license page.

What gives? Did I goof somewhere?

How do I get kiln working now? The license says it's for FogBugz+Kiln bundle...

What happened is that when you installed FogBugz+Kiln on your server, it created a linkage between the Kiln and FogBugz databases it created at that time. When you swapped in your downloaded database from On Demand, the linkage was broken.

We're working on a better solution for this, as it's quite common to want to do exactly what you're trying to do. In the meantime, however, you these instructions should get you going:

If those instructions don't work, for whatever reason, please write me at customer-service[at]fogcreek.com and I'll setup a Copilot session with you to troubleshoot.

I tried those instructions, and some rows were removed from both databases, but it still redirected me to the license page. In the end I had to completely remove kiln, and delete it's database, finally after re-installing with our copy of the OnDemand fogbugz database in place, it all started working. – James Bagg Jul 30 2010 at 6:55
