Kiln's web hooks allow you to notify any URL with information about a push, but we realize that this isn't a perfect solution---you shouldn't have to write and host your own script for every service.

We're working on adding built-in integration with some third-party tools. We want it to be easy to use Kiln with chat services, bug trackers, and the other tools that you rely on as a developer.

What tools and services would you like to see Kiln work with? Vote for a service or tool below, or add your own as an answer.

AppHarbor

AppHarbor already supports Mercurial (BitBucket), so any integration with Kiln would be awesome! – AP Erebus May 12 2011 at 23:21
I just posted a comment to the Appharbor support site to this effect: support.appharbor.com/discussions/problems/…. Agreed - this would be a tremendous benefit and as per my comment, would push me into the paying customer department. – stevewilkinson Nov 11 2011 at 16:19
Any progress on this? – FreshCode Feb 24 2012 at 12:02

Kiln 2.5 includes built-in web hooks for the following services:

  • Chat: HipChat and Campfire
  • Project management: Pivotal Tracker and Flowdock
  • Continuous integration/build management: TeamCity and Jenkins/Hudson

Here's all the details and how to set up a new web hook.

Please keep the suggestions for new services coming -- we'd like to integrate with all the tools that you need as a developer.

Growl

What information would you want Growl to display? Surely not a toaster for each changeset; that'd make large pushes cover your entire screen. – Benjamin Pollack Mar 30 2011 at 15:00

For all changesets or just for tags? – Tyler Hicks-Wright Mar 2 2011 at 0:27
Changesets! Every time you push FogBugz, I can have 31,922 pending notifications! That actually sounds more fun on an Android phone. :) – Benjamin Pollack Mar 2 2011 at 2:47

Send an email.

We used to use Codesion, and they made it really easy to send an email every time someone committed code. We're a small team, and it was really helpful to see at a glance what was going into the codebase. Please consider it!

Thanks!

It looks like there's a separate feature request ticket for this one. kiln.stackexchange.com/questions/1313/… – davidmc24 Sep 21 2011 at 14:32

We noticed in a recent newsletter that you use it, we do to. It would be sweet if web hooks could push info into new relic's deployment feature so we could tie changesets to performance metrics in our web apps

This is likely out of scope, though it fits if one considered the title of the question only: There are number of projects I track that use other SCMs. I really don't like having them all installed at once, especially the shell extensions -- TortoiseSVN, TortoiseBzr, ... -- it would be a wonderful world if I only had to install and learn Kiln + TortoiseHg and yet stil be able to share with people who prefer bazaar (+launchpad), git and subversion (+trac).
