I have absolutely no idea how to get started with Mercurial. I used Subversion once, but this is all weird and confusing. Can you help me?

I haven't taken a look at the hginit tutorial yet, but I can tell you that I was in your shoes yesterday morning. I spent most of the day reading and working through the examples here: http://hgbook.red-bean.com/read/ Now I feel pretty comfortable with Mercurial. Not an expert by any means, but I set up a pretty complex repository with lots of subrepositories, hooks, hgignore files - the whole ball of wax - on my webserver today, and everything's running fine. So, if you've got a day to devote to it, check out the book (in addition to the hginit tutorial, which I'm sure is excellent), and work through the examples that are contained in it. |
